֍Green Aventurine Introduction
Aventurine was first produced in India, and therefore also called “Indian Jade”. It is a fine-grained quartzite that contains impurities causing coloration. The main component of aventurine is quartz, about 85~90%, with 10~13% chrome mica, etc. Although aventurine became famous relatively late, it has a long history. In the tomb of King Liang Zhuang of the Ming Dynasty, there is a belt inlaid with a piece of aventurine. Probably, this piece of aventurine was brought by Zheng He from India. Aventurine is a medium-grade jade, which can be used to make various jade wares, jewelry, jade carvings or statues.
֍Agate Introduction
Agate is a type of chalcedony, which is a form of microcrystalline quartzite. It is characterized by its fine-grained texture and often displays beautiful bands or layers of different colors. These bands can be straight, curved, or irregular, creating unique and eye-catching patterns. Agate has a long history in China, and 6,000 years ago, Chinese southern tribe made agate wares, like earrings, bracelets, necklace, agate pig or ancient battle-axe. The Northern tribe used agate to make arrow heads or blades. In Warring States period, there were some agate beads or agate rings.
